Truth about Affiliate Marketing
Posted by under Work From HomeThere are certain risks and dangers that need to be known by people who are serious about building a strong and prosperous business. People have misconceptions about affiliate marketing campaigns and many myths are circulating regarding this. Things need to be cleared up and proper ideas should be given to the people. Some of the myths and the truths are as follows:
Myth: People believe that a lot of white spaces are to be left in advertisements, brochures and other printed materials especially on websites.
Truth: The truth is that people are interested more on the information on these websites and brochures instead of the blank spaces. They want to know what the business can offer them and not the look of the brochures.
Myth: The written or printed advertisements should be small, since people do not have time to go through a long one.
Truth: People do read long stories; long letters and long articles provided they are engrossing. They read whatever is interesting and if you can provide interesting pieces of information on your brochures and printed advertisements, it is bound to grab their interests. It is usually proven in marketing studies that readership falls after the first 50 words and then grabs the attention from the 50th word to 500th word.
Myth: It is costly to place advertisements on television since television times are costly.
Truth: This was true once upon a time but the introductions of cable and satellite television have proved it wrong. The cost of running an advertisement on a primetime television channel in the US is now $20 or less and sometimes even lower to $5. Another advantage is that cable TV allows you to choose the channel where you want to telecast those advertisements.
Myth: Sell the sizzle, not the steak.
Truth: If you are looking for the sizzle and not the solution, then you are going in the wrong direction. That is because the easiest way to sell your product is to place it as a solution to a problem. If there is only sizzle, it might look attractive initially but when the people look for a solution, they will be left dissatisfied.
Myth: Affiliate marketing should entertain and amuse.
Truth: Affiliate marketing should sell your product instead of providing entertainment which is the work of show business. People do not judge the product by the glitz and glamour of the advertisement or the catchy jingle.
Myth: All that matters is the profit.
Truth: Other than profit, good taste and sensitivity also counts. Marketing a product includes education, information and announcements about the product. These things influence human behavior. Affiliate marketing does not offend anybody and presents its ideas with taste and decency.
